Komodo is a passive acoustic sensor for UAS detection, classification, and localisation . By continuously monitoring ambient sound patterns, Komodo analyses acoustic signatures in real-time through embedded processing, and identifies irregularities. This capability enables the sensor to cue other sensors, effectors, and deliver rapid alerts to operators.

The Komodo embodies a vertical array of eight high-sensitivity microphones capable of omnidirectional acoustic detection. These microphones are connected to embedded processors that combine signal amplification and machine learning to detect and locate acoustic signatures of UAS in real time.
By comparing passively recorded sensor data in an integrated acoustic library, the C-UAS system detects and alerts about incoming unauthorised drone activity.

In this regard, BSS Komodo is actively deployed in Ukraine, where it has proven highly effective in detecting incoming fibre-optic, FPV, and Shahed-type drones, as well as other UAS variants.
